Montreal is a city where Art overflows.
It overflows so much that finding it at a street corner or above a desert park area is ordinary.
At multiple sides of the city is hidden the youngs artist’s work, mostly from Montreal, who use the city wall as a playing field.
The time of museum exclusivityi is now over. Multiple piece of street art keep popping up on a daily basis in this vibrant city, most of the time keeping it annonymous. It may be a collage on the back of a door or a gigantic painting on a building, this art has no rules and every piece of work distinguishes itself from one another, making each one of them unique.
The city of Montreal is clever enough to put in light this new culture. Specially when winter comes over, where colors work their magic and brings goodness to this grey looking city.
Mural festival, launched 2 years ago by LNDMRK strongly increased this new « »montreal speciality ». For a week, many international artists such as Inti, Alexis Diaz, Kashink or Stikki Peaches (2014 edition), shared the St-Laurent Boulevard to leave their marks. Everyday we live the progress of this art making and changes the people’s perception on this type of art. Street Art is now considered as genuine art.
Through this galerie, we selected a part of what makes the beauty of our streets. We invite you to discover the rest of them, still hidden, by keeping your eyes wide open.
